Note: this feature is recommended only for advanced users. For most users, we recommend using Larix Broadcaster by following the support instructions in-app and in this detailed guide.
The most popular third-party livestreaming solution is Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). You can download their desktop application and learn more on their website. If you require support for other platforms, please send us a request through our Contact form.
To livestream from your computer, using OBS, to Shop Studio Live, you will need the Shop Studio Live "Streaming Settings" tab which can be found in the Control Room under the Live Stream Setup section. You will have to copy each of the fields into OBS.
The livestreaming settings can be found in the Control Room after creating an event in Shop Studio Live:
In OBS, you can access the streaming settings by clicking on Settings > Stream. Then, from the Service dropdown menu, select "Custom."
Now, you can copy each of the settings from Shop Studio Live into OBS.
Then, in the OBS main screen, you can select the Video Source that you want to use for your livestream (such as webcam). More instructions about OBS Sources can be found in this guide from OBS. We encourage using sources that have a 16:9 aspect ratio since Shop Studio Live is optimized for portrait (vertical) viewing.
When your source(s) is connected, click on "Start Streaming" in OBS.
Then in the Shop Studio Live application, click on "Activate Connection." In a few seconds, you should be able to view your OBS livestream in the Shop Studio Live Control Room.
When you are ready to go live, click on "Go Live" in Shop Studio Live.
